Princess of Wales Dispensary

When you move south from Mananchira junction, you come across Touring Book stall, Ahamediya mosque, Catholic Syrian Bank, Tom and Jerry icecream, DD office, KFC and BSNL. The old and crumpling Jayathi Building is the landmark in Palayam which is opposite to Moidhu Masjidh and the Mother and Child hospital. When you turn left from Palayam, you enter Mohammed Ali Road taking you to Ram Mohan Road and Taluk Office Road. The last road has Maharani Hotel, Kasaba police station, Chindavalappu UP School and the District Jail. Moving further south makes you reach Thali temple. This beautiful 14th century temple has very big pond. The temple walls are elephant shapedOther nearby landmarks are the vegetable market, Jaya Lodge, Koya shop, Shanthi lodge and Canara Bank. Back to Kallayi road you can find Sai baba Lane with Telephone Bhavan, Nayanar building, PVS Hosptial and Jayalakshmi Silks. Palayam road is on the northern side of Kozhikode railway station. When you turn east, you reach the Palayam vegetable market and bus statin. When you turn south again from Palayam junction, you come across the Indian coffee House in the Imperial building followed by Jayalakshmi silks on Annie Hall Road and Aradhana Lodge on Kallayi road. There is an ashram of Sai baba here followed by Pushpa junction. When you turn westwards from Pushpa junction, you can access Francis Road overbridge and reach South Beach. Aradhana Hotel compound has two fine restaurants run by Indian Coffee house Chain: one is vegetarian and economy type and the other is non-vegetarian and expensive sort. Other landmarks are Paico Bookstall, Marzook College, Snehanjali Hall, King Fort Hotel, ABVP office, KSFE office, Mangalam office and Atlas Inn. The area around Kallayi Bridge has Hotel Madhusoodhan, Kallayi Railway Station and Kallai Library. The foot overbridge here takes you to the cute temple on the other side of the railway track. Moving southwards on the highway you pass by Hotel Prachili and Grand fresh supermarket. The next landmark is the Panniyankara police station where you can find the cute and colonial Homeo Dispensary building which was the former Princess of Wales Dispensary built by the British architects. Thiruvannoor road begins from here on the left side. Then comes Kannanchery, Areekad and the Hyundai showroom. The Govt Arts and Science College is on your right followed by Meenchantha Junction with bypass road back to the city on your left. The Nallalam road and SAIL-SCL factory are the next major landmarks followed by Kundayithode junction where you have Toyota, VKC Hawaii, Modern Bazar, Githanjali Press and St.Antony’s Church. The next landmarks are Srambia bus stop, Catholic Syrian Bank. B.C.Road on your right can take you to Beypore beach and seawalk. Moving staright take you to Koyas junction followed by the bridge on Chaliyar river taking you to Pettah, Chungam and Ramanattukara town.
