Mamminikkadavu Temple, Feroke

Feroke Town is the most beautiful place in the whole of Calicut district but the locals are very tasteless people.  They have built ugly concrete buildings all around the Chaliyar river bank and the traffic congestion is simply hopeless.  Even the small roads are congested with uncountable number of vehicles especially two wheelers.

You can find some peace of mind even in the middle of this kind of Kerala madness.  I found out a small temple hidden on the riverside some 200 meters from the Trivandrum-Mangalore national highway.  It is called Mamminikkadavu Temple and it can be accessed from Koyas busstop in Cheruvannur on a parallel road.  There is a lot of shade in this footpath and the whole place has a picture postcard type beauty.
