Mavilikkadavu village is a photographer’s dream as there are
many water bodies around. Mavilikkadavu
village can be accessed from Wayanad road in Kozhikode city. Start from Malapparamba junction and proceed
to Karikkamkulam side. After
Karaparamba, turn right and take the Krishnan Nair road. You can move by a canal and reach
Mavilikkadavu highway junction. On the
left there is the Kunduparamba All India Radio road and the road to the right
takes you Malikkadavu town. Moorikkara
and Kakkodi road are on the right side.
The Thanneer Panthal village can also be accessed from here.
Karikkamkulam route starts from Karaparamba and proceeds on
Krishnan Nair road. Kunduparamba,
Eranhikkal and Kottapadam are little towns on the way. Veda Vyasa School and Providence Women’s
College are in this area. There is one
Mandady temple and Ahamedhiya mosque here.
Ponmana Ayyappan Temple, Mavilikkadavu river and the Bhagavathy temple
on the highway attract many visitors. Sri
Palazhy Thazham Bhagavathy Temple and Kakkauzhi Palam also give photo
options. There is a forest shrine called
Poovattu Naga Kali Temple here and another one called Edakkad Ganapathy Temple.
Nearer to Puthiyangadi junction, you can also find one Hanuman temple.
