| Thiruvampady village |
If you are fed with the traffic blocks and big crowds of
Calicut city, you can drive to Anakkampoyil village on the eastern side of
Kozhikode district. This area is full of
greenery, rivers and forest cover. There
are many places to see and a lot more places to relax yourself before coming
back to Calicut for work on Monday.
Anakkampoyil village is 55 km from Kozhikode and you have to access the
village via Thiruvampady town which is 12 km from Anakkampoyil.
The road to Anakkampoyil starts from Karanthur and proceeds
to Kunnamangalam, Koduvally and Omassery. There is a riverbridge at Thottathil
kadavu and Thiruvambady is the next town.
After Thiruvambady, you come across Sacred Heart Church and
Akashapparavakal Convent. There is a
cute riverside road at Kaliyampuzha.
Areeppara Waterfall and the near nearby rubber plantations can engage
your for some time. Anakkampoyil is the
next and accommodation can be found at Vellarimala Green Villas. There are many photogenic places in
Anakkampoyil like a little green mosque and the infant jesus church. The hill view from Muthappan Puzha river is
fantastic. This riverside village is
also accessible by bus as it is the last stop for KSRTC buses.
